Winter is definitely here

And we’re nearly halfway through 2023, can you believe it?!

Our clinics get really busy this time of year as the days get shorter and temperatures drop. Everyone spends more time indoors, keeping warm and talking with one another, so this is when we all become more aware of our hearing loss and the communication difficulties it causes. And now is a good time to come talk with us about your options.

Hearing technology continues to innovate with the release of Phonak’s latest range of devices, “Slim”. These hearing aids have a unique, ultra slim, funky design, but are still packed full of great tech, including all the Bluetooth functionality and charging options we’ve grown to expect. Keep a look out for them as I’m sure if you’re looking for a distinctive product they will be of interest, and might just start a new hearing aid design trend.

On that note, if you or someone you know is thinking of trying hearing aids then we have a great offer for you; come in for a FREE hearing test and FREE 14-day trial of Phonak’s entire hearing aid range. We’d love to help new users discover what good hearing might actually be like, and if you are an existing wearer, you might be interested to see how much technology has improved! This offer runs until 30 September 2023.

Now for some exciting news for our Central Otago clients — we are soon to open a clinic in Wanaka! We are working behind the scenes on our new site and hope to be up and running early July. We’ll keep you posted on the opening of Audiology South’s 10th clinic.

In this issue we have articles on the relationship between hearing loss and falls, debunk some common hearing aid myths, and answer that perennial question: “Can headphones or earbuds damage my hearing?”

We hope you enjoy the read and, by the way, we’re always interested in topics you would like us to cover, so if you have anything you’d like to know about hearing and hearing loss, please drop us a line — we’d love to hear from you!
