Hearing Loss

Hearing loss can have many causes but one thing we know is that it’s extremely common. A 2016 report estimated around 880,000 New Zealanders, or 19% of the population, live with some degree of hearing loss.

Hearing Tests

Can include a basic hearing check or a full diagnostic hearing assessment to ascertain the degree and nature of a hearing loss. A full hearing assessment will help differentiate between hearing loss that is permanent and loss that is treatable.

Hearing Aids

Audiology South supplies and fits all leading hearing aid brands including GN ReSound, Phonak, Siemens, and Oticon. There are many different types and styles and our Audiologists will help you select the one best for you.

Tinnitus, from the Latin verb “to jingle” is the perception of sound in the ears or head when no external sound is present. In about 80-85% of cases, tinnitus is associated with an underlying hearing loss.
